When Tony was born, he was given one year to live. More than a decade later, Tony works hard every day to stay healthy and battle epidermolysis bullosa, a rare skin disease that causes constant wounding.


In addition to defying the doctor’s timetable, Tony excels in the fast-growing technology world. Known as the “whiz kid” by his friends, he hopes to someday develop apps for Apple.


Tony does not let his “challenge”—as he likes to call it—get him down. Instead, he works hard to inspire other children and show them that he is just like them, even if he looks a little different.


His loving personality and friendly demeanor inspire children and adults. While defying time, Tony also greatly enjoys the present and simply finds joy in laser tag, camping, bowling and movies.
